Holiday Hecticity

Many thoughts choose to dance through my head at this time of year. Pets, priorities, safety, coziness, friends, family, life, and above all--Money. The holidays are prancing upon us, filled with overpriced pieces of plastic, taxes that ravage our wallets, and credit cards maxed out. I, personally, only have $10. Lucky me. I don't even think I'll be able to get my Secret Santa person a doorbell.

Ah, well. My concerns aren't as important as some. For example:

NUCLEAR WAR!
IRAQI MASSACRE!
BAD PRESIDENCY!
CRASHING ECONOMY!
FAILING STOCK MARKET!

and whatever else those kooky govt. people get themselves into. (No offense, govt. people.)

Well. Many things in life are hectic, crazy, and all in all a complete and total meltdown. Sometimes they cause your dreams to crash and burn. Sometimes they claim someone that is important in your life.

But there are a couple of things in life that no matter what you do, you have to smile. Among these are:

Sleeping babies
The first flowers of spring
The smell in the air after a rainy day
Rainbows
Clouds shaped like someone you know
A starry sky
Coming in from the snow to a warm fire and hot chocolate

These things chase the shadows away from your face and introduce a whole new outlook on your life, if only for a few precious moments. Their gifts seem to be blessings from the big guy himself. So no matter how hectic your holidays get, fellow bloggers, remember to stop to say hello to someone you don't know, and cherish their expression as you go Christmas shopping.

Nicely said. I suggest something from Bach for the doorbell tune. :-)
