Inspiration

What is inspiration? It is a bright, glittery moment, when you get a great idea that just pops out of nowhere? As George Eliot explains it in a question--
Do we not all agree to call rapid thought and noble impulse by the name of inspiration?
So is that what inspiration really is? A rapid thought and noble impulse? Or is it more?

Impulse, by definition, is a feeling. It isn't an act. So is inspiration an influence, or an act?

As Thomas Edison said:
Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% inspiration.
So inspiration is the rapid thought and noble impulse that leads to a great something.

NATDICTIONARY (NEW AND IMPROVED):

in·spi·ra·tion
(ĭn'spə-rā'shən)

The rapid thought and noble impulse that may lead to a great act.
