RECORD: NATALIE THANKSGIVING (PRELUDE-CONCLUSION(INCLUDES QUESTION)):
PRELUDE
Stepping into our friends house, I noticed the distinct smell of turkey cooking. My stomach rumbled hungrily as I surveyed the veggie snacking stuff.
Five minutes later, the last carrots were dissapearing into mouth. Much better! I had missed breakfast and lunch for this. (Mom, don't kill me, I just forgot.)
After playing a round of MarioKart on my friends Wii, my sister grinned evilly and said, "WiiBaseball time!" So after playing some WiiBaseball, we played some WiiTennis, much to her chagrin and my delight. "Dinnertime!" Eldest sister Lauren reminded us.
THE FEAST
Whoo! And they say the turkeys get stuffed this time of year!
All I can say is, "WOW". I had a completely full plate (and those plates were BIG!) made up of almost everything on our Thanksgiving table. Pasta salad, cranberry jelly from the can & home-made orange cranberry jelly, turkey, turkey stuffing, sweet potatoes, gravy, fried rice... wow.
After dinner came dessert (which was pumpkin cheescake--very delicious--and apple pie--also delectable--with vanilla bean ice cream) which made me almost explode.
After that, I had a couple rounds on WiiBoxing, which worked off a little stress on the stretch of skin across my belly. Then came another round of WiiTennis (much high-fiving and woo-hooing on that bit) which also worked off some post-Thanksgiving meal gut.
CONCLUSION:
We all went home after watching Deanna (my sister older than me but younger than Lauren) and Mr. T (my friend) play some golfing (Mr. T beating Deanna by 4 points). I had a really good time, and it was really fun. But this is what bothered me a bit--
Have we really lost sight of why we celebrate Thanksgiving?
What are we really thankful for?
So this is my question--
What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving?

I am REALLY thankful that I have a daughter who thinks about the deeper meaning behind cultural customs. I am hopeful that I will get to see how her talents are used to grow God's Kingdom. And I am super thankful that God cares enough to pursue a relationship with each of us.
